Ben Kalina directs a poignant documentary about the cost of living close to the ocean. Focusing on the barrier islands along the eastern seaboard, the story weaves through the communities living there, the vacationers’ that travel there every summer and the scientist watching the subtle effects of climate change on the coastline. The threat of a major storm becomes a reality as Hurricane Sandy confirms all our fears. Antonio Sanchez worked with Ben and his editor Marc to develop the animated sequences illustrating the effect of these changes and the influence of money in these communities on the steps taken to protect or neglect the environment they inhabit.
